This was taken near LAX airport. The smog was so thick you could taste it, chew it even. I wondered if I had hallucinated, but I caught it on film, from which I'm sending you the enclosed copy print. Didn't make a sound, and was gone in a few seconds.

Grangemouth Electric UFO Photo

Amazing UFO Photograph - taken from an article called "UFOs In Scotland" from Malcolm Robinson © SPI (Strange Phenomena Investigations) England.

"UFO testimony is one thing, but when you receive testimony backed up with a quite spectacular UFO photograph, well that's another matter. We at SPI received quite an amazing UFO photograph which was unlike anything we have ever seen before.

It was on 12th November 1991, at around 9.30pm, that friends Phil Trevis (previously known as Peter Muir, a pseudonym used in previous SPI accounts) and Paul Penman (pseudonym) were out taking photographs for a project called 'Light and Dark'. The following is the written testimony by Phil Trevis, as given to SPI.

"My friend and I were taking photographs of the BP chemicals plant in Grangemouth (from Polmont Reservoir) when we noticed a dim, or rather, two small dim flashing lights over by the two 'flashing pylons' at Kincardine Bridge. We watched the object, which we thought was a helicopter, fly slowly over from the bridge to above the brightly lit Grangemouth Stadium. We watched it hover for around five minutes. It was then that we noticed that the 'craft' wasn't making any noise. Normally, if it was a helicopter, we would have heard the blades. It then turned around and faced our direction.

"It was roughly 2,000 feet above the ground, then it dipped and increased dramatically in speed. At the point of the photograph, it was about 200 to 300 feet directly above us. It was then that we heard the light 'pulsing hum' of the object. My friend and I were quite shaken at the time, but afterwards had an overwhelming sense of excitement."

SPI conducted the usual lines of investigative enquiry to try and get to the bottom of this incident. We ascertained that there was no aircraft activity in that part of central Scotland that night. Letters to the British Petroleum plant at Grangemouth, asking them if they had any small light aircraft or microlights in operation above their complex that night (on pipe inspection duty) came back stating that no such light aircraft or micro-lights were flying above the plant that night. (The BP plant at Grangemouth is in controlled airspace; only special authorization can be given for overflights of this highly explosive complex.)

Indeed such was the closeness of this object that Phil Trevis had to bend over backwards to take his photograph, and so what you are actually looking at is the underside of the object - concave, with numerous bright flashing lights being thrown out into the dark night sky, which creates a sort of halo effect. The object is consistent with what was being sighted above and around the small town of Bonnybridge in Stirlingshire, central Scotland; the town of Bonnybridge is still experiencing UFO sightings, but not as many as those which peaked between the years of 1992 to 1994."

UFO over the "rock of life" in the valley of Tepoztlan, photo by Carlos Diaz, 7 June 1992

In-depth case investigation by Michael Hesemann:

Ships of Light: The Carlos Diaz Experience
https://hesemann.watchers.ca/shipsoflight.html

According
to experts it is the best documented UFO contact case in the history of the phenomenon. With certainty it is the most carefully investigated extraterrestrial encounter.

THE CASE

In the early hours of March 23, 1981 Carlos Diaz, a young photographer from Mexico City, drove into the Ajusco National Forest in the "zona vulcanica" south of the capital. A magazine had commissioned him to take pictures of a sunrise in the mountains, and for this he has chosen a well-known vantage point. He parked his car, waited for the sun to dawn. Suddenly he saw an orange light shining up from the slope in front of him. First he thought it was a fire, but then he recognized a yellow-orange dome. It was a UFO! Immediately he grabbed his camera, shot a first photo, when the disc was just facing him. In this moment, the engine of his car went off. Diaz shot his second picture before he jumped out of the car, just to see and photograph how the disc was shooting off with high speed.

When he got the photos back from the lab the same afternoon, Diaz knew that he did not dream. This experience never let him off. As often as possible he returned to the Ajusco National Park. But only two and a half month later, on a rainy day, he saw the orange glow again, this time coming from the top of a hill. He parked his car, climbed up the muddy volcanic rocks, when he eventually saw the object hovering in front of him. Deeply moved by what he saw, he suddenly felt someone touching his shoulder. In the same moment he fainted. When he recovered, the rain had stopped and the object had disappeared. Completely bewildered, he climbed down the hill, back to his car…

In the following month, Diaz started to remember step by step what had happened to him during that "missing time". More than that, a friendly contact developed between him and the pilots of these mysterious "Ships of Light". Carlos decided to move into the valley of Tepoztlan, 40 miles south of Mexico City, where these objects were seen since man can remember. He was able to take several more spectacular photos. And he had further encounters which taught him why these beings come to this planet and how worried they are about all life, all living beings on Earth.

Ten years later, the sun was darkened over Mexico. During the eclipse of July 11, 1991 thousands of witnesses saw strange craft in the skies. The prominent TV anchorman Jaime Maussan investigated the sightings, commissioned a scientific analysis of UFO footage. Carlos felt that the moment has come to go public with his experience. He contacted Maussan who was deeply impressed by the quality of his photos. More than that, he tried an experiment. He gave Carlos, who could not afford one, a video camera. He was not disappointed. Only three days later, Carlos presented him the first film. Three more followed within the next five month. They all show the same "Ship of Light" which was also on his photos, in breathtaking maneuvers over the valley of Tepoztlan. One time it came so low that it filled the whole frame of the camera.

CONCLUSION

Thousands of eyewitnesses, radar observations, photos and films which stunned the experts and a contactee with a high degree of personal integrity – the Carlos Diaz experience can indeed be called one of the most important UFO contact cases in the history of the phenomenon. For this reason, the researchers investigated it as careful as possible – and waited seven years, until every aspect was put under scrutiny, before they published it. Never before so many international experts were consulted in the investigation of a UFO contact case. All researchers who met him were impressed by the honesty and sincerity of Carlos Diaz, an impression shared by his neighbours, his family, the mayor of Tepoztlan. Nobody in Tepoztlan ever questioned his experience since every second of the "Tepoztecos" has seen these objects, too.

The case will be one of the most important for the UFO research of the 21st century, because it goes far beyond sightings, contact and evidence. The Carlos Diaz experience indicates a direct connection to the ancient civilization of the Maya, one of the oldest and most mysterious cultures on the American continent. It gives us explanations about the propulsion and navigation of extraterrestrial craft. But in its center stands a message, which concerns all of us, an urgent call to save and protect life on Earth, which is endangered by us, to inherit our children a living planet. When we eventually learn to love and respect life, Diaz is convinced, a contact "with them" will be inevitable.

July 17, 1992  -  Earth Orbit, GEOS-8 Satellite, Space

Background Information / Description:

CHILEAN TV STATION AIRS SATELLITE'S 400 KM UFO VIDEO:

On Tuesday, January 26, 1999, TV viewers in Chile were astonished when a Santiago station broadcasted satellite video images of disc-shaped UFOs measuring hundreds of miles in diameter.

The video images were aired by Television de la Universidad Catolica (TV-UC) on Canal (Channel) 13. The video footage was shot by Geostationary Orbital Environmental Satellite 8 (GOES-8) on two separate occasions a few years ago.

According to Chilean ufologist Luis Sanchez Perry, the program "showed an infrared photo taken by GOES-8 on July 17, 1992, clearly showing a large disc-shaped object in outer space above the Pacific Ocean in front of (just west of) the Chilean coast."

According to Mario Vilches, the gigantic saucer measured "400 kilometers (240 miles) in diameter."

The July 1992 image was captured by Servicio Aereo Fotometrico Ltda., an airmapping business in Santiago de Chile, the national capital.

"The lines that can be seen in front of the UFO belong to electromagnetic interference that came from the UFO," Sanchez explained.

THE IMAGE:

At the time the image was taken, GOES-8 was in a geostationary orbit 21,600 miles (36,000 kilometers) above Earth. The huge disc appears to be moving at the same orbital speed as the satellite, approximately 6,696 miles per hour (10,713 kilometers per hour).

"Three more images were taken at 10-minute intervals, and the UFO came through very clear," Sanchez added.

The second GOES-8 video was shot on April 7, 1996. Although the image disappeared very quickly from the GOES website, it was downloaded by Chile's Centro Meteorologico Regional de Antofagasta. This image "shows the UFO over the Atlantic in front of (just east of) the Brazilian coast."

The GOES-8 video images were discussed during the broadcast by two ufologists, Dr. Mario Dussuel of Comite de Estudios de Fenomenos Aereos Anomalos (CEFAA) and Rodrigo Cuadra of Equipe Superior de Investigacion Ovniologica (ESIO). CEFAA is Chile's official national study group, composed of government agencies, local ufologists and the Fuerza Aerea de Chile, FACH (the Chilean Air Force).

----------------------

In its evening news broadcast on January 26, 1999, Chilean broadcaster Channel 13 aired a story involving a infrared photo taken by the GOES-8 weather satellite (part of the orbiting NOA series). The image, taken July 17 1992, shows clearly a huge disc shaped object in outer space high above the Pacific Ocean in front of the Chilean coast. This image was captured by "Servicio Aero Fotometrico (SAF) de Santiago" and handed to the local authorities (Air Force). Copies of the images were also given to a few people like Mr. Gustavo Rodriguez, former ATC and UFOlogist who now works for CEFAA (Official UFO Commitee).

The original image has been colored for analysis purposes and temperature variation is 40°C between colors. The black ring shows a temperature over 50°C and in the central part about 10°C. The lines that can be seen in front of the UFO belong to electromagnetic interference that apparently eminates from the UFO. Importantly this does not represent a malfunction with this satellite, for similar photo's were taken by GOES image servers around the world and erased very quickly in the U.S.A.

In respect of the picture itself, it is said by experts in satellite image analysis that the object is real and enormous; in fact somewhere between 450 and 500 km in diameter. The UFO is moving at the same speed as the GOES-8 because at least three further frames taken automatically over the following 10 minutes depict the same object very clearly and minus blurring, as one might expect due to the timing of the GOES-8 camera. The GOES-8 is a geostationary satellite positioned some 36,000 km above the earth and travels at 3.1 km/sec.

The curious thing is that 4 years later, on April 7th1996, a similar thing happened again. Again an image was also taken by GOES-8. The UFO was now over the Atlantic in front of Brasilian coast. It was also huge in size (approx. 400km in diameter). On this occasion the images were recovered by Centro Meteorologico Regional de Antofagasta, and while I don't have any copies of this I have seen a picture. It is less impresive than the first photo' capture of1992 and represents a much darker object, showing temperatures of 40°C approximately in it's darker zone and -40°C in it's more clear parts. This reveals that it emits some sort of energy. Neither the Chilean goverment nor military have commented on the photographs at this time

I wish to thank Dr. Mario Dussuel (CEFAA consultant and E.S.I.O. collaborator), and Rodrigo Cuadra (member of E.S.I.O.) for their help gathering parts of this important information.

The 1993 Maslin Beach photo case

When Eric Thomason in Maslin Beach, Australia, looked out across the ocean, he saw - to his great surprise - how an object rose from the waves and started flying towards him. When the object came nearer, Eric took out his camera and started taking photographs.
- "I could feel water dripping from the craft", he tells UFO-Aktuellt.

By Clas Svahn
Translation by Stefan Isaksson

The photographs are quite sensational, and there are really just two alternatives: either Eric Thomason's photographs are the most astounding so far, or it's just a simple hoax.

Eric Thomason, 69, is a senior citizen living in Maslin Beach in southern Australia. Not far from his house is an old abandoned mine, Maslin Old Quarry, where he sometimes takes his dog for a walk.

In March 1993, Eric decided to try to document the old mine using his son's camera, a Kodak S50 with a Fuji 100 ASA-film. Despite having never owned a camera of his own and having virtually no experiencing photographing, Eric set off in order to try to capture the beautiful colors of the open-cast mine from as many angles as possible. And, s photo contest in the magazine "Southern Times-Messenger" about the best image of a sunrise over land also helped him in his decision. He thought he would be able to capture the sunrise on film from Ochre Point, a cliff 60 meters high from where hang-gliders used to take off - but the sun was hidden behind a dense layer of clouds.

The Sun was Hidden

Wednesday, March 10, didn't appear to be much better. It was a cool morning, only 14 degrees Celsius, and a stubborn wind came from the west. From the top of the grassy cliff, Eric was forced to accept that there wasn't going to be a sunrise that morning either. A persistent layer of clouds blocked out the sun, and the time was 06:00 AM when Eric instead turned to face the ocean to the west.

- "It was then that I saw a movement on the surface on the water, and something looking like the tower on an atomic submarine emerged, Eric tells UFO-Sweden. When the object rose from the water I was able to see how three legs were pointing out from the hull. I was also able to see how it was spinning, and how the three legs were pulled in."

Before the legs were pulled in, Eric managed to take his first photograph of the object, and he estimates the distance to the object at the time being about 400 meters. It then dawned on him how exposed his position was. Standing on top of the Ochre Point with the sun right behind him made him an easy target to spot for a possible crew.

- "I had heard of people being abducted by UFOs, so I climbed down a slope nearby. From there I could see how the light-grey object came flying somewhat south of me, and came to a halt over the mine. At that very moment I spotted yet another object, north of the first one. That's when I snapped my second picture, but since the light from the sunrise was straight into my view-finder I moved a little to the left."

While taking photographs from his hideout five meters below the top of the cliff, the new object moved towards the larger one, came to a halt, and then continued upwards, into a deepening in the larger object.

- "I could see three lights on the exterior of the larger object and how it shone around the opening. Shortly after I'd taken the fourth and last photograph the larger object rose straight up and disappeared over me. When that happened, I could feel water dripping from the craft down on me."

In a report form to the Australian UFO-group Australian Flying Saucer Research Society, Eric estimates the size of the object to be 40 meters, and the distance (when he first saw it rise from the ocean) to be 2 kilometres. While talking to him on the phone, Eric tells me how it never got closer to him than 400 metres.

When the incident was over, Eric returned home. However, despite his amazing encounter he decided to remain quiet about it, even to his wife. He first wanted to have the film developed in order to find out if there indeed were any photographs of it. But he was not in a hurry. Before he handed in the film for development he made sure to use up the entire film. And not until May, 1994, when he had watched a UFO show on TV, did he bring forward the photographs.

- "At first he didn't tell me anything since I wasn't feeling well at the time, and later he believed that the photographs weren't going to show anything", Mrs. Thomason says when UFO-Sweden talks to her. "But after he had had the film developed he showed them to me. I'm certain it's a spaceship. Eric is not the lying type, and I believe him."

Quick Stroll

Still, there are several details in his story that are worth pondering. Eric Thomason set his alarm clock to 05:45 in order to catch the sunrise, which took place around 06:00. During these 15 minutes, Mr. Thomason had time to get out of bed, put on several layers of warm clothing, bring his camera, fetch the dog at the back of the house, walk to Ochre Point (which according to Mrs. Thomason takes 5 minutes), climb the 60 meters tall cliff, wait for the failed sunrise, and then walk on to another site close by in order to look out over the ocean. At 06:00 sharp he took his first photograph of the object. The bright blue sky on the first photograph suggests the images were taken later in the day.

In a letter, Eric describes what happened when the photographs were returned from the photo lab: "When the film had been developed I noticed yet another object on the first photograph, which I hadn't seen during the incident itself. A black dot in the distance, halfway between the object and the edge of the photograph, which might have been an airplane several kilometres away, or the smaller object on its way to intercept with the larger one."

Cheap Camera

According to Eric, the negatives were analyzed by Kodak in Adelaide, but he doesn't know anything about the results.
- The negatives were sent in by Mark Tarrot, a "UFO-fanatic". He knows what the results were.

The camera Eric used was a cheap Kodak S50, purchased in a department store for 40 USD. The S50 uses normal 35 mm film, and has never been available on the Swedish market. Its focus is set, and cannot be changed. There are, on the whole, no buttons to push except the shutter release. Cameras of this type are always set on infinitude, and have a large depth of field. And here's where an uncertainty becomes apparent. If you look at the first photograph the object, which supposedly is 400 metres away, is in focus while the horizon is fuzzy. As a matter of fact, both the object and the horizon should be in focus.
That aside, the images agree with Eric's story, and during our entire conversation he answers all my questions correct, even when I try to trap him.

Mr. Thomason's photographs have caused a lot of attention worldwide, and have even ended up in an American UFO almanac.
- "There have been so many people calling, that I'm now starting to get sick of it", Eric says while mentioning how he is very critical to other UFO photographs. "But I've begun looking for them in the evenings while out walking the dog. I know there are UFOs from different planets in the universe. But so far I've only seen meteorites."

Finally I ask Erik Thomason the most important question of them all: Are the photographs really genuine? Do they really depict the object you said emerged from the ocean?
- "Yes, absolutely, he says briefly and adds, OK?"

Earth Orbit - METEOSAT photo

In 1991, the New York State Physics teacher Philip J. Imbrogno discovered that meteorological satellites sometimes send strange images down to Earth. He published several of these images, received from the geosynchronous GOES-Satellites of NOAA, which show egg-shaped objects in the Earth Orbit. Critics immediately came up with an explanation: According to them, they were mere "moonshadows".

This explanation was maybe acceptable when the first images showed no details. But after Chilean researchers published photos of a structured saturn-shaped craft of 400-600 feet in diameter, it immediately collapsed.

Meanwhile, Italian researcher Adriano Forgione published this image, received by the Italian radio amateur Vittorio Orlando on September 3, 1993 at 6.30 p.m. from the METEOSAT weather satellite, stationed in an altitude of 95.000 feet. In the original as well as in the enlargement, a dome and a surrounding ring are clearly visible. Another moonshadow? Or indeed a "structured craft"?

I've just received this photos from Rolando Quiroga, resident of Monterrey and good friend of mine. They were taken in 1994 while travelling on the road from Monclova, Coah. to Monterrey, N.L. He was inside of the bus when saw through the window a cigar shaped object that appeared on the horizont .

Two pictures were taken and you could see the reflection of the door and windows from inside of the bus. It was almost 3:00 PM and in both photos is visible a small object on the upper right side of the cigar ufo. These photos are not known and Rolando keept them as a funny souvenir in his photo album.

February 19: The witness, painter amateur, leave his residence of Rosyth to go to Craiglusar (close to Dunfermline, Scotland) with the firm intention to take some photographs of the site. These last must help it to paint a painting of the places then. Circumventing retaining tanks, the witness hears a strange noise, like a buzz with the foot of the high-tension lines, then smells himself suddenly badly at ease. Being turned over, it observes a made aircraft of a metallized matter and of which it estimates the diameter at 15 Mr. the witness tells that it feels, at this time, immobilized, as emptied of his energy. He will not be able to take any photograph of the object at his point nearest whereas he however has his apparatus with the hand. It is only once the distant object which it takes 2 stereotypes showing, for one, the shape of saucer of most traditional (opposite) and, for the other, a tiny point on the horizon. The phenomenon disappears at the speed of the flash.

On July 23, 1995, the Mendoza family were on a vacation trip driving on the road from Aguascalientes to León, Guanajuato. At 5:20 PM, Mr. Gustavo Mendoza, Mrs. Elena Lemus and their two sons Aldo David and Gustavo Alberto suddenly had an unexpected encounter.

According to their testimony, Mrs. Elena Lemus was the first to see a ufo in the sky.

"My husband was driving slow and we all were talking when suddenly a kind of bright flash attracted my attention to the sky. That's when I saw it: an object that was emitting or reflecting a light in its left side."

"I shouted, 'Look over there!' My husband stopped the car at once. 'It's a UFO!!' my two sons shouted. We were observing the strange object through the car's windshield. It was static in the sky without moving and I felt a strange sensation. 'Take a picture!! Take a picture!!' my husband said to me. I was carrying my Kodak 110 pocket camera, so I grabbed it and quickly took a photograph through the car's windshield."

"At that moment, the UFO made a slight movement to the left and then turned very quickly to the right disappearing in a blink of an eye. I tried to take a second photo but the UFO was very fast. "

Mr. Gustavo Mendoza mentioned that he also felt the strange sensation while observing the unknown object and after the UFO disappeared. They remained with the car stopped for about three minutes talking to each other about the unique experience. "We were very excited and hoping the UFO would reappear."

Mr. Gustavo declared, "But it never returned. That was the moment that I realized that we were in the middle of the road. It was really strange, they were no cars on the highway and we didn't felt any wind or hear any sounds. We were convinced that we had a UFO encounter and our main hopes now were for the photograph to come out clear."

"I started the car and began to move it very slow. We were still looking to the sky hoping to see the UFO again. It was like we didn't want to leave this place, we were hoping to make contact again. Finally, we continued our trip and when we returned to Monterrey. I developed the film and for our luck we got a clear picture of the UFO. It's strange but when we were seeing the photo my wife and I felt the same sensation of that day."

The Mendoza family kept the UFO photograph in their photo album as a remembrance of their experience. Recently, as a result of a local UFO TV show, Mr. Mendoza contacted me and told me about their UFO sighting. He gave me the negatives and I made several analyses. The zooming photo was made at the PhotoLab...not by the computer. It was made direct from the original negative to capture all the elements. I checked all the photos in the negatives and there was only one UFO photo in the sequence...verifying the wittnesses testimonies. For me, this was a lucky discovery of one more case in my UFO research. But for the Mendoza family, it was truly a unique moment in their lives.

This photo appeared in a recent issue of UFOCUS, but it was not in color. It was taken in Denver, Colorado, January 1996 by Joe Clower, who was photographing some workmen painting the gold balls on a city monument. He was waiting for the workmen to get ready for the photograph when he saw this strange bell-shaped flying object in the sky.

Since the camera was already in hand, he took one picture while the object was at the left of the tall building. Then the object went behind the building and came out on the right side, and Joe took this second picture of it. There are three people in the photo, one on the ladder, one at the bottom of the ladder, and one man walking past. None of them seem to be aware of the UFO.

I confess that I haven't been able to do much with this photo. I tried various computer tricks to sharpen the picture and make it clearer, and nothing seemed to improve it, so in the end I left it as it is, with no changes. The image is too small for any effective enhancement. I have included an enlarged picture at maximum scanner resolution, but it is still not very clear. It's the best I can do.

If anyone with fancy photo software wants to try to work with it, I can email high resolution scans of the original in TIF format (Caution!!! The original files are 10.6MB and 1.95MB in size!), but don't expect much more in the way of results.

Background Information / Description:

February 19, 1996
Karagol near Izmir, Turkey
Two young amateur mountaineers, Cem Arat and Mehmet Safak, both 20 at that time, were hiking at the Yamanlar Mountain Peak near Karagol. They had finished school and expected to go to the army soon, so they had taken a camera to take each other's picture as a memoir of that good old days. All of a sudden a UFO appeared and was floating in the air, making no sound; they were so astonished that they didn't know what to do first. "We have never seen anything like that before", they told Michael Hesemann, when he interviewed them on the Istanbul international UFO Congress in December 2001, "it was definitely nothing built on Earth. It could hover on the spot and increase to tremendous speed, shot up and down, rotated around its axis, all very fast and completely soundless." Eventually they remembered their camera and shot some pictures, before the object disappeared in a blink of an eye. The sighting lasted for about two minutes. In the following days and weeks the two youngsters returned again and again to the site, hoping that they would see the object again"(SEE APRIL 2002 "Ufo Photo of the Month")

Thanks to Haktan Akdogan for the pictures and Esen Sekerkarar for a detailed report on the incident!

September 16, 1996  -  Valley, Alabama, USA

a local radio station and newspaper received six different photos from an anonymous source that show a capsule-shape UFO hovering over a farm pasture. In a letter accompanying the photos, the source claims to have taken the remarkable UFO photographs on the 16th of September, 1996, in Valley, Alabama, USA.

According to the phototaker, he was repairing a fence on his property when his dog started barking loudly. Going over to where his dog was he looked up to see a low-flying capsule-shape UFO hovering and moving slowly over one of his cow pastures. The UFO captured in each of the photos resembles the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo space capsules that the United States launched in the early years of its space program. Black to dark green, the cone-shaped capsule, when blown-up, shows a black teflon-like covered bottom and a flange or rim that goes around near the top of the unknown object. In each photo the UFO is shown at a slightly different position and elevation, making it more difficult to hoax, according to researchers who have examined the photographs.

The photos and a copy of the letter were aired publicly for the first time on TV-33 in Lagrange, Georgia on 26 September 1996. On the "Heston & Steve" show, the two hosts, Heston Yates and Steve Smoots, along with John C. Thompson and Jimmy Smith, field investigators for the International Society for Ufo Research (ISUR), speculated about whether the UFO photos are real. All of them agreed that if the photos were part of a hoax, it was a most strange and clever one. Mr. Thompson said on the program that he was "most favorably impressed by the photos." He also has stated since then that he has two witnesses who saw similar shaped UFOs in May and July in the LaGrange area which is only 20 miles from Valley. Another witness that he has located, says he and others saw the exact craft, incredibly, 25 years earlier in Atlanta. Mr. Smith, a long-time investigator and actual sightee of UFOs, said the photos appeared genuine. He also said that he himself, in 1971, had seen a UFO with a likeness of what the photos depict. He then went on to relate that the 1971 UFO had cut off power to his pickup while he observed it.

The photos, along with a copy of the letter from the alleged phototaker, have now been sent to Jeff Sainio, a photography expert who specializes in analyzing UFO video and photos. Mr. Sainio, who often does photo analysis for the popular TV Sightings program, will determine if the photos really show a UFO. In the meantime, it is hoped that the person who took these amazing photos will step forward and allow access to the negatives that the photos were made from. All persons involved in investigating the photos are assuring the phototaker over TV and radio that if he wishes, his anonymity will be kept.

HUNGARIAN UFO SNAPSHOT

By Laszlo Kiss & Philip Mantle

On October 27th, 1996, Lajos Kosina was visiting his girl friends parents house in the small village of Erpatak in the county of Szabolcs-Szatmar, Hungary. Lajos’s girlfriend posed for one snapshot in her parents garden and no one noticed anything unusual in the sky at the time.

Upon having the photograph developed some weeks later Lajos was surprised to see a ‘disc-shaped’ object in the sky behind his girlfriend. Although curious they did not show the photograph in question to anyone for several months. They were not really interested in it. Eventually, via a friend of the photographers, the photograph in question found it’s way to the Hungarian UFO Network (HUFON) who have conducted some preliminary research.

HUFON have studied the photograph using both optical and computer techniques on the original negative and have concluded that that the UFO is not a result of a film fault, nor is it a small model suspended on a wire. HUFON researchers are convinced that it is a genuine UFO and not the result of a hoax.

Further study of the photograph by HUFON revealed that the UFO was not blurred. To them, this indicated that it was either stationary or moving very slow and was not a model being thrown through the air behind the young lady in the picture. Having questioned the photographer HUFON could find no evidence to support the idea that he may have hoaxed the photo.

HUFON researchers were left with the conclusion that this is a genuine UFO photograph, and that a real, flat, disc-shaped object, several meters in diameter can be seen in the photo, the surface of which appears to reflect the autumn sunshine.

Laszlo Kiss is a Director of the Hungarian UFO Network.

Philip Mantle is the former Director of Investigations for the British UFO Research Association.

"For at least a hundred times", Cem Arat and Mehmet Safak returned to the site at the Yamanlar Mountain Peak near Karagol, where they saw and photographed a strange object in February 1996. This time, one of them was called up by the Army, so they decided to go a last time as a kind of "Farewell party". And this time another UFO showed up! They shot a lot of pictures, but the object was moving so fast, that they caught it on only two.

After their military service, in the beginning of the year 2000, they contacted a local TV channel and told their story. Their photos were examined by an expert of the Aegaean University of Izmir, Dr. Ahmet Imancer, head of the Photography and Graphic Dept. He stated that he was convinced they were not a hoax and estimated the diameter of the object to be about 20 metres (60 feet), its distance about 500 metres (500 yards).

The Turkish UFO research center SIRIUS requested another analysis by the "On Photography House" in Istanbul, which, on June 16, 2000, stated: "As a result of our analysis of the 35 mm negative film, we concluded that the images on the negatives are genuine and there is no indication of a hoax on the photos delivered from these negatives. The negatives and the photographs were examined by computer and no modifications were found on them."

Photograph of the tube-shaped object, above a large fire on the Sierra Madre Oriental mountains.

Enlargement of the object.

April 14, 1998

Mr. Yturria Garza has given SKYSCAN permission to use these pictures which were taken by Raul Garza who was taking pictures of the colossal fire on the Sierra Madre Oriental. "Suddenly an unexpected visitor appeared into the scenario. It was like an enormous neon tube illuminated with an intense white light" --says Raul.

According to Mr. Garza, "During the computer analysis of the original negatives, I and my research team didn't find anything that could suggest that the pictures could be the product of an elaborated hoax and I can assure that Raul Garza is a respected and well-known person in this city, not interested in economical profits and popularity needs. "

Raul was using a tripod and the camera was in "program" mode. The telephoto lens has a range of 25/70 mm and was set to 70 mm.

To quote Mr. Garza: "Maybe you in the States don't receive much graphic information about all what's happening here but I can assure you that the activity seems to be getting stronger specially due to the fact that the main volcanos from Mexico City are very close to erupting."

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric (NOAA) has several Geosynchronous Orbiting Satellites in orbit watching the Earths weather and environment. On November 21, 1999 at 14:45 hours, one of the satellites caught an amazing photo of a UFO at an estimated hundred miles above the Earth off the state of Washington.

One of the satellites is designed to detect water vapour or clouds from space and when its camera was zoomed in, it was apparent that the craft was giving off vapour. The possibility of a computer error causing the image was completely ruled out . The UFO was present for several minutes and was a structure which radiated heat in the infrared spectrum. It was obviously very large. Similar photos were taken on June 8 , 1995 over South America.
